Amazon.com Review The EasyShare printer dock is, in a word, awesome. Despite a few minor flaws, it essentially solves the basic problem of digital photography, namely that we all have hard drives crammed with thousands of images and no actual physical photos (you remember, the kind you can put on your refrigerator and mail to your mom). And it solves this problem Iaffordably/I, at about 29 cents a print once you factor in the cost of paper and cartridges. But most important of all, the quality of the photos it prints is eye-wateringly good. p table width="150" align="right"trtdimg src="http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/photo/detailpage/picture-coating.jpg" alt="Kodak Xtralife coating" align="center"/td/tr trtdsmallbiKodak Xtralife coating makes prints waterproof and durable under typical home use./i/b/small/td/tr/table The EasyShare printer is a snap to set up, even for dedicated technophobes like myself. You simply snap the pieces into place, dock your compatible Kodak camera, and press the bPrint/b button. Printing itself takes about 60 seconds. The 4 x 6-inch photo paper passes back and forth through the printer four times, allowing you to witness the application of each primary color and a final, invisible protective coating. Does it really deliver archival quality, as claimed? There's no way to know for sure until a few decades have passed, but the colors at least Ilook/I sturdily vibrant and crisp. The print quality is in fact much higher than what I have come to expect from drugstores for my film camera prints. The contours are sharp as a knife, the contrast pitch perfect. At the push of a button, the printer will produce multiple prints (two, six, or nine) on a single sheet, which is perfect for making wallet-sized snaps of the kids. p Among the above-mentioned minor flaws, number one is paper jams, which happen every eighth print or so. The jams are solved easily enough by unplugging and plugging the unit back in, but are still annoying. The second problem is that printing from a PC is not nearly as smooth and easy as printing directly from a Kodak camera. Installing the included software is easy enough, but more often than not, trying to print from my hard drive was a lesson in frustration. To get around the PC quandary, you can print directly from any PictBridge-enabled digital camera or from SD or MMC cards using the built-in card slot. p Quibbles aside, though, the EasyShare printer dock is essential for anyone wishing to complete the digital circle from virtual pictures to real-world photographs with glorious color and razor-sharp detail. --IDavid Stoesz/I p BPros/Bul liAffordability liOutstanding picture quality liEase of use /ul BCons/Bul liFrequent paper jams liPrinting from PCs is a hassle /ul

Blen1 November 11, 2008 br /br /The Kodak cx7000 printer dock is as was advertised by 50 monkeys. It works great, very sharp pictures and fast prints. The order was shipped very fast and was packed very nicely for rough handling, all aspects of the order were very professional. Harold Blen
disappointed March 30, 2008 Why don't they let us give zero stars? I have the fatal problem with the printer not feeding the paper and when I can get it to go it will only print half of the picture. Sounds like I don't even want to bother trying to get Kodak to do anything for me so I guess I'll start looking for something better. They want $80 to repair? Someone mentioned Canon printers were nice? Here I was wanting to help out an old fashioned American company, well all I can say is fair warning if you are a stock holder in this company!
Terrible printer March 3, 2008 This will be my last Kodak product. This printer was very lightly used. I bought a new paper/cartridge refill pack ($45) and the paper jams everytime I use it. Unplugging and starting over does not work. What a disappointment.
Great February 24, 2008 I purchased this to replace the one I bought approx. 3 years ago. To have my old one repaired it was going to cost $80.00 plus S/H and I would only get a 30 day warranty. I bought a brand new one for under $80.00. I love this little printer, makes printing picture convenient.
Rip Off February 16, 2008 This product worked well for awhile, and the prints continue to be clear. The problem is that even though I don't mind feeding the sheets of paper into the dock one at a time (due to limitless paper jams), I run out of ink before running out of paper. I keep the dock plugged in at all times, so that's not the problem. If I could buy the cartridges separately from the paper I would be okay with feeding the paper manually, but here I sit with 50 sheets of paper and an empty cartridge. What a rip off!
