The Blu ray has arrived and was easy to install, once you went to the store and bought the cable. The cable should be included like batteries for toys should be included. We are enjoying using it

This product is utter rubbish. Keep your standard DVD player until they get the Blu-Ray kinks worked out.
No smooth fast forwarding, unlike every other disk player in existence.
Doesn't remember your last position, unlike every other disk player in existence.
The opening splash screen is one step above MS-DOS. The first thing you see is something like "Push to Erase BD". This is every time you turn the machine on.
Glacially slow.
Sony obviously rushed this out the door before it was ready.

I did my black Friday shopping on line. Didn't open until Xmas day. Unpacked, spent thirty minutes plus downloading the software and no Blu-Ray. Major disappointment. Sony pretty good about taking it back to work on it, but slow.

The price was great and the vender delivered quickly and without problem. Sound and picture are definitely an upgrade from my standard DVD player.
The Sony blu-ray player face has only very basic operations; other operations can only be performed with the remote. Some remote functions result in a message that the chosen action is "prohibited" with the installed disc. Which actions are "prohibited", and when, seems idiosyncratic. Consequently, I am still learning how to navigate through menus with a minimum of hassle.
Overall, I am quite happy with the product and very satisfied with the vendor.

Easy to use and set-up. Excellent picture and sound quality on Blu-Ray and DVD (home theater and HDTV required, of course). Easy to navigate remote control. Low price. Bought one for each HDTV in my home. Don't care at all about no eject button on the remote control; I have to get up to take the disc out of the unit anyway, so what's the big deal with hitting eject on the unit itelf?
