 WARNING -- THESE ARE EXPIRED CARTRIDGES June 15, 2010

Although advertised as "new" and "original" and were bought directly from Amazon, both cartridges I received were past their expiration date. Additionally, one of the cartridge boxes itself was damaged even though the Amazon shipping box itself was not.
This is first time I had this experience with Amazon. From another customer comment dated October 2009, Amazon appears not to care about disclosing this on in its web site advertisement.

This HP printer toner cartridge is working well. We have been using this type for a while and like it a lot. It last a long time with high quality printing.
Failure to Disclose Amounts to Fraud March 21, 2010

I just installed the cartridge and it seems to work. The reason I am giving the product the lowest possible score has to do with the merchant. As some others have pointed out, Adorama is selling printer cartridges that are past their expiration date - in this case expiration in July 2009 for a cartridge sold to me in Feb. of 2010. There is no mention of this practice in the description of the product. They don't tell you up front that they are selling you an expired cartridge at full retail price although they have the opportunity to state that in their product description. I believe there is an affirmative duty to disclose this fact and that a failure to do so amounts to fraud - they do not deliver what a reasonable person would expect them to deliver based on the description they provide of the product. In a bricks and mortar store a person could look at the expiration date on the product before deciding to purchase. Internet shopping does not permit that. They have a duty to describe the product accurately and fully.
Over the years I have been reluctant to deal with Adorama and have always preferred B&H. This transaction supports that reluctance and also makes me look kind of sideways at Amazon for permitting this. Some folks apparently stay up late at night thinking up new ways to cheat and disappoint their customers and because each individual customer is powerless to do anything much about it, they get away with it. No more Adorama for me; I am holding to my previously formed opinion that they are not a good corporate citizen.

I bought this toner for my HP Laserjet 1200. I've had the printer for almost 9 years now and it still works great. I don't print much though, but when I do this printer fires up and prints correctly every time. I finally ran out of toner a while back and decided to go with this cartridge through Amazon. It arrived quickly and installed in less than a minute. What else is there to say about toner?
