 It's only sort of flat... January 5, 2009
First, the spool I ordered did NOT come with pin connectors. Not a big deal to me but I saw others mention them below...br /br /I bought this wire to run under my area rug to the rear speakers in my home theater. While it's flatter and thinner than the 14ga wire I was using before, it's not all that thin. I've got the cable sitting on the tile floor, then two layers of that rubber rug-keeper mat stuff, then the area rug, and you can still feel where the wire is. It isn't obvious to look at it, but when you walk over it you can feel it. I imagine running it under actual carpet with a carpet pad it would not be noticeable at all.br /br /The cable itself is pretty nice. It lays flat on the floor when you take it off the spool. After you flatten it out it doesn't retain the shape of the spool like other cable I've used. The wires inside are in a flatter shape too so you'll have to terminate the ends with a sharp knife instead of a wire stripper.br /br /Overall, good stuff. I just wish it was a little thinner or at least had tapered edges.

I bought this for the color. It matches the color of my walls. I'm not running it under carpet. It's kind of an eggshell color instead of bright white.br /br /I had no trouble stripping and cutting the wire. The sound is excellent. Mine didn't have a compression connection at the end. It was just straight wire.

ok i just bought this and I'm stoked! I'll update you when I install it. br /br /i spent quite some time looking for speaker wires for my HOME THEATER SYSTEM and learning about AWG in the past few days so I thought I'd share. br /i have an ONKYO HT-SR800 with speakers @8ohms, and my rears are 45 ft from the receiver, so I only need 16 AWG. br /there's a useful chart here: br /http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htm#introductionbr /hope it helps!

Product description fails to mention that the spool of wire does come with a set of speaker pins. Actually, they are compression type and do not require any soldering/crimping. The wire is foolproof, neat and with any luck, fit exactly between the wall the carpet nail strips... :).

This wire is perfect for running under carpet, if you're too lazy to get under your crawlspace, or you're on a slab. I've bought it before. Returning customer.
