Great on top, lousy down below December 23, 2008 If I could give this product 2.5 stars, I would. I've given it the benefit of the doubt and rounded up to three.br /br /I wanted a thin but effective mouse pad because using my optical mouse directly on my desk surface has started to wear down the soft plastic glide pads under my expensive mouse. I bought this pad hoping to extend the life of my mouse by using it on a surface designed for just such a thing.br /br /The top of the mouse pad works great. The mouse glides smoothly and effortlessly over the surface and my optical mouse tracks well.br /br /The underside of this pad is far too slick however ... the mouse pad slides just as easily along the surface of my desk as the mouse does over the pad itself. I've been forced to put a mug on the corner of the pad to hold it in place ... thus chopping off the amount of area available for the mouse. I suspect it would stay in place with some double sided tape but am frustrated as I dont want to have to do that.
This pad sucks November 15, 2008 Too small. The pad glides all over the desk because of the completely ineffective 'grip' on the bottom. There are much better options out there. Try the ones from Handspring. They rock - also cheaper. Don't waste your time or money with this one.
Works Well November 10, 2008 While not perfect, this is the best mouse pad I've found. If it slides around on the desk, try washing it in warm water and drying between paper towels. I've found that it'll grip better if you do that periodically.
Unreal precision October 24, 2008 This mouse pad provides unearthly precision. This is not like ANY other mouse pad, but somehow provides laser like mouse precision. Buy it!
Try this instead October 15, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had to rate this item to get this on here, but I've never bought it. br /br /However - I have spent more time than I like to admit looking for a decent optical mouse pad. br /br /I'm a CAD jockey, meaning Computer Aided Drafting, and I run my screen resolution at 1280x1024 so I can see fine detail. I freely admit I'm hard to please in the mouse pad category, but on the other hand, why is it so tough to make a decent optical mouse pad? br /br /After falling just short of strangling a computer store bozo, I went home, thinking all the way. When I got there, I hunted up a manila folder, cut in half, and taped it to my desk. br /br /I like it!!!!!!!!! It's smooooth and fast and thin and not jumpy in the least. Did I mention it is dirt cheap? It has a hard surface, so we'll see how long it lasts, but I have a whole drawer full of material. br /br /Try it.
