Editorial Reviews:
Product Description PF17.0 fits both notebook computers and LCD desktop monitors with a 17" viewable screen. Actual filter dimensions are 10.64" high x 13.30" wide. This filter is designed for non-widescreen laptop computers with screens that appear more square than rectangular and have a 4 x 3 aspect ratio. Privacy filter keeps confidential and private information private. 3M's microlouver privacy technology works like tiny vertical blinds so only persons directly in front of the monitor can see the image on screen. Passersby see only a darkened screen. Excellent for high traffic areas. Reversible for either glossy or matte screen finish. Reduces reflections when used with the matte side facing you. Protects your LCD panel from scratches and damage. New easy on easy off attachment system. If used on a notebook computer, the filter stays in place when the notebook is closed.

Privacy Screen November 17, 2008 This 3M privacy filter is great. I recommend it for anyone who has an office area that allows foot traffic on either side. It works really well with flat panel screens. The small tabs that are included to hold the screen in place aren't even needed. This filter would work really well for anyone who uses a laptop in very public areas.
Fantastic October 11, 2008 I use it at work and it really keeps prying eyes away from my screen - even when someone is sitting right next to me. You see the screen and they don't.
Too Expensive September 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is too expensive for what it does. If your in front of the computer you can see every thing. You have to be on an angle for this probuct to work.
Great product September 25, 2008 It does exactly what it claims to do. No one sitting next to you will see anything on your screen. Highly recommmended.br /Jan
Best for Laptop use, but will work for monitors August 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is really meant for laptop screens but 3M also recommends it for LCD monitors. I bought one for my LCD monitor because it was such a good value when compared to screens that are meant to hang on the monitor frame.br /This essentially just a sheet that perfectly fits the screen. The downside are the tabs that you attach to the frame of your monitor to hold the sheet in place. They don't provide much support and if the monitor frame has a beveled edge like mine does they can be tricky to apply. The tabs are pretty small and non-obstructive.br /br /If you don't need to ever remove the privacy screen after putting it up this will do the trick. If you have to take it on and off I can see those tabs becoming a pain and probably the glue will not hold for long.br /The product does what it claims and will black out the screen if viewed from the side. Make sure it will work for your particular office set up. The best part is as long as I have brightness turned all the way up , it doesn't darken the screen tremendously when I view it from the front, and is much easier on the eyes than the type of filter that blurs the text.
