Works Great January 1, 2009
Bought this for a friend. Works great, no complaints. Quick and easy install without any catches. He is enjoying it.

I love this thing. I just had to install it and it burns DVD's flawlessly and fast, not like lightning, but really fast. I can finally watch movies from my computer on my DVD player on my big TV. It's great, and I highly recommend it.

In less than twenty minutes after it was removed from the shipping box the drive was inside my old HP desktop quietly doing its thing. Windows Me installed it immediately and there have been no problems running live CD Linux (Knoppix, Puppy, and Ubuntu). I've watched three commercial DVD movies, one home-made CD movie, and have burned over two dozen ISO Linux disks without any bad writes since it was installed a few weeks ago. The LightScribe feature has not been tested because of the cost of disks. I would not hesitate to buy another Lite-On product. Jim D

I bought 1 of this model from Amazon.com with free super saver shipping. It wasn't the fastest way to ship but hey it's free. As soon as it arrived, I installed the unit and it didn't work. Windows XP could not detect the drive; worse, it affected the other existing drive in my PC coz even that can't be detected. I tried all the Windows tricks I know using control panel but to no avail. This unit has to go. So, I went back online and got an RMA from Amazon.com requesting for a full refund. I like Amazon.com, where I buy most of my electronics. This is one of the rare occasions where the product failed the first time. If you look at the reviews, 7 out of time rate this model 5 stars. I guess that translates to 70% quality. I'd rather get a 100% quality product. Now, I'm back on the search. br /br /Rating: Amazon.com - 5 stars (free shipping and back shipping)br / Lite-on DH-20A4P-08 - 0 stars (oops! 1 is the loewst)

I got the DVD-RW that was fine but what do you do with one that have no disk with it.no programs to do anything with?
