 Great DVD deck for $350! January 9, 2009
Great choice for DVD video player, awesome Pioneer quality, and it doesn't cost more than one of those BS Jensen or Dual or Phase Linear P'sOS.br /br /Install is easy, (remember you need a separate power wire if you're in a GM vehicle) and you're in business.br /br /Wish you could change the BG to an image or something, but I just turn the display off if I'm listening to music. Saves hours on the 100,000 hr lamp life... :) Also, it kinda sucks that it only reads dvd(-)r, instead of + and -.br /br /Buy it if you already have a GPS. The 7000BT is a waste since it won't even play DVD's, and this thing is like 1/3 the price of the 9000BT.

This is a great item for the price. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. We had to take it to best buy to get it installed which i DO NOT recommend! It cost another $300 to have it installed! Great buy as long as you know how to install yourself!

i bought this unit from amazon months ago,installed it in my truck enjoyed the display,sound, having owned pioneer decks before,but was very dissapointed when the unit would change it's source option out of the blue while playing and this would keep on happening until i turned the unit off.Then it would start happening again occasionally while playing,can't be bothered to return it i think i will just try to get it repaired.i just thought it would be trouble free for a while longer than couple a months.

For the price, this is definitely one of the best non-nav DVD headunits out there. Pair this with the optional Bluetooth Adapter (CD-BTB200) and optional Ipod Adapter (CD-I200) and you have yourself a very complete system (minus Navigation).br /br /For setting this up to view DVD's while driving (bypass safety lock-out), you'll need to get a standard 5-wire automotive relay and wire it up per these instructions: br /br /1. connect "30" to the parking brake wire from the headunitbr /2. connect both "86" and "87" to groundbr /3. connect "85" to the remote turn-on wire from the headunitbr /br /What this does is send a pulse to the headunit to trick it into thinking you've turned on the parking brake. If you simply connect the parking brake wire to ground only, it will not work.br /br /The DVD, CD, Radio, Ipod, and Bluetooth functionality on this headunit are all great! The touchscreen is very responsive too. One of the best features is the ability to change both the external buttons and the on-screen display (OSD) colors to match your factory interior gauge lighting. My 2008 Subaru STI comes with all red interior lighting so I selected the AVH-P4000DVD to have red buttons and red OSD.br /br /PROS:br /- Ipod controls w/ CD-I200 are amazing: mimics real Ipod controls on the screen (Except for scroll wheel), responsive, and charges Ipod while dockedbr /- Bluetooth Module (CD-BTB200) works well as long as you update the software of your phone (I needed a software update on my Blackberry Pearl 8100 to get it to work properly)br /- External Volume knob, very helpfulbr /- Clear 6.5" screen, dims when headlights are on for night viewingbr /- Touchscreen very accurate and responsivebr /- External button and OSD screen colors can be customized to any interior (Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Violet) for factory lookbr /- DVD playback is greatbr /- Easy to use interfacebr /br /Cons:br /- only 2 pairs of preouts (front and rear/subwoofer)br /- No navigation, but that is why its so cheapbr /- No remote control comes standard (optional CD-R55)br /br /Just get it. You'll love it.
