Defective out of the box December 28, 2008 I bought this product for my mom for Christmas (2008) and, unfortunately, it was defective out of the box. The display that shows CD tracks/radio stations didn't work properly. The CD player is supposed to play regular CDs as well as CD-R and CD-RW CDs; the only CDs I could get to work were regular CDs. It wouldn't recognize a CD-RW CD that worked in another CD-player we had. Maybe the one I got was a dud, but it was a poor product nonetheless. I'm sending it back to Amazon for a refund.
good radio December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While certainly not the most amazing radio I have ever heard, it does its job well. I use this as my kitchen/ portable radio. I like that it has a cd player and a tape player. I can finally borrow books on tape from the library! If you are looking for a reasonably priced radio/ cd player/ tape player this is a good choice.
good purchasing experience December 26, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I haven't actually seen the product in action since it was a gift for a friend, but the purchase experience was flawless.
Great Item December 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this player because I was moving and my large stereo was packed. Am I glad I did. My new place is smaller than my old one, and since I am at a loss for space, I may use this item permanently. Sound is good, and though initially, learning to use functions was not easy, now I am an expert. Would recommend to a friend and purchase another if needed.
Great radio but looses memory. December 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After receiving this radio I was impressed with the functions and with the sound quality. I only use it for some noise when I go to sleep as I have that ringing in the ear and it is not as noticable when I have more that dead silence to go to sleep. The remote works very well and the programming is a snap too! We recently had a power outage and it was restored in just a few hours and that is when I noticed the problem with the redio. When I turned it on before bed it was dead not even a sound. After awhile I figured out I had to hit the function button to get it to go to the radio mode then it didn't have any of the previouly programmed memory for the station presets. I could understand this if I had not installed the 8 "C" batteries it takes to work without an AC power sourse, but I did do this as we do use this radio when the power does go out in our area. I just didn't use it during the recent outage as I was not at home. Definitely a design flaw that Emerson should deal with and therefore why I only gave it four stars. I still would recommend it though cause it is a pretty darn good radio.
