very big screen so was a great value on bargain of the day. works well. for basic use it's simple. some of the other features are a little more difficult to find though the menus.
 Easy to Use January 9, 2009
Bought this product for my mother who is very bad with electronics. This Tom Tom is so easy to use she hasn't had a problem. The screen is also bigger so she can see what's going on without having to stare at it. Finally it comes with a mount that just suctions to the windshield so you don't have to permanently stick anything to your dashboard if you don't want it there. Good investment!

The TomTom One XL is really a fine piece of equipment. It has voice commands for turns, it tells you how to get back on course if you make the wrong turn and can also show you the route back home with a simple tap on the touch screen. I have recently moved to a new area that I am unfamiliar with. This unit has been very helpful in getting me to new doctors and dentists offices. It found the shopping mall for me, grocery stores and other specialty stores. All I needed was the address. Maps are easily updated by connecting to my computer with the included USB cable. The only fault is it's battery life, 3 to 4 hours. The unit needs to be connected to vehicle power supply, with the included cable, while on the road.

I purchased this for my wife and was counting on it to be easy to use. We've only had it a few weeks and so far, she loves it. Great directions, easy to read display, and it notifies you of turns well in advance. The suction cup makes mounting a breeze and it quickly removes from the base to take on the go. Touchscreen works with minimal effort. The night colors make it very safe to use at night. Only part I'm not thrilled with is the 12-volt power cord, which is currently drug across the dash as we have it mounted to the left of the steering wheel. An aftermarket outlet should take care of that though. Great product!
