 Great concept Poor execution September 6, 2010

Bought a refurbished one. Liked the idea of a small controller with on screen info & navigation. Price was OK. Remote was inconsistent. Lots of "out of range" messages despite the fact that the remote was next to the base unit. Base unit was a constant struggle to get my iPod Classic correctly positioned so that sound would come out with proper fidelity & would charge the ipod. Lot's of problems with left or right channel cutting out or not transmitting. Finally gave up & I am still looking for a reliable, reasonably priced solution that fits my requirements.Can not recommend @ any price including free.

This is second DLO Home-Dock with On-Screen Display for the i-pod that I received. The first unit did not work at all. The vendor did send out another unit however the second unit was damaged as well. The LCD screen on the remote was damaged and could not be read. They agreed to credit my account however told me that there weren't any additonal units available.
I have a friend who has one of these and it works great (when it works). The first unit sent by this vendor was used and never worked. The second one was damaged and couldn't be used.

Very happy with this product. For $79 it does everything I need it to do. Range is very good and display is easy to read and navigate.

After much study and reading reviews, I purchased this dock for our home system. The dock arrived DOA. I e-mailed the Amazon re-seller and received no response. I contacted the manufacturer. They wanted me to go back to the seller for a replacement because they no longer make this dock. When they sensed my frustration at the run-around, they agreed to send me a similar product as a replacement. It took 3 weeks, but I finally have a dock that works.

I purchased a similar item last year for 4 times the cost of this one (which we subsequently "blew up." The menu availability on the remote's screen is not quite as good as our prior model, but for the price, I'll gladly take it! I am using it on a 94' houseboat and so far the remote has reached in every spot on the boat (inside, outside, upstairs, downstairs --- the iPod sits in the living room entertainment center, and the speakers are all over the boat.) I've always been a big fan of refurbished products....the kinks have been worked out, and the price is always right!
