Amazon.com Product Description Azden's WMS-PRO wireless microphone system offers untethered convenience and clear FM transmission from compact, unobtrusive components. The system consists of Azden's WM-PRO transmitter, WR-PRO receiver, EX-503 clip-on electret microphone, and EX-413 handheld microphone. Affix the electret microphone to your lapel or grasp the handheld mic, plug the mic cord into the transmitter, and away you go. The transmitter and receiver operate in the VHF band, where interference is very low. Choose between 169.445 MHz and 170.245 MHz for the clearest transmission and reception. The transmitter and receiver each operates for about 10 continuous hours on a single 9V battery (not included). The receiver comes with an attached shoe mount for mounting a video camera, which may be easily removed using a Philips-head screwdriver. You can also attach the receiver with the supplied Velcro strip. The receiver includes an output jack and a telescopic antenna. Plug the supplied earphone into the jack to monitor your recording, or plug the earphone into a camera's earphone jack. The system conforms to Part 90 of FCC rules, and it's not to be used in high temperatures, high humidity, or near a broadcasting station, airport, or on an airplane. What's in the Box WM-PRO transmitter, WR-PRO receiver, EX-503 lapel microphone, EX-413 handheld microphone, a camera shoe mount, a monaural earphone, a Velcro strip, and a user's manual/spec sheet.

Talk Like a Pro July 5, 2010 Jeremy Palmer (Salt Lake City, UT USA) I'm an amateur online video producer. I create short product review and sales videos on my network of websites. I started out by making videos from my webcam, but realized that the sound quality was subpar.
I decided to change my equipment setup to improve the quality of my videos. I went with a DV camera with an external mic.
I decided to purchase the Azden wireless mics after I saw a video review of the mics on YouTube. I've been using the mics for over a year now, and am very impressed with their quality. Most of my videos are shot inside in the same location, so I don't have a lot of environmental considerations to account for.
I recommend these mics to anybody doing video. Sound quality is one of the factors that's easily overlooked, but makes a big impression on the video.
Not up to snuff June 7, 2010 F. Cano 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this for the coach's comments while recording soccer games. As long as I am on the same side of the field, everything is ok. But, if I am on the other side of the field the signal is very noisy or not there at all. Much less than 300feet quoted in the specifications.
This is close to the ideal situation, open field, no obstructions, outdoors.
So, if you are using this for close in work. Worth it. Get it.
If you want to push the range, find a different solution.
Captures decent sound without a lot of noise - but you should know it's not stereo (the plug from the receiver is mono) May 18, 2010 Nathan Andersen (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I borrowed this from a friend to see if it would work for me. I've decided to look for something else, but depending on your needs this might just be the thing.
The lavalier works fine, and the sound is better than what you'd get with most onboard mikes since it doesn't pick up a lot of the extraneous sound. For interviews and the like where the main sound you want to capture is a specific person's voice, and if you're on a budget, this would be perfect.
One thing you can't do with this directly is pair the lav with another mike. The output plug from the the receiver into your camcorder (or other capturing device) is mono, and if your camcorder doesn't have an onboard mixer and sets plugged-in mikes to override the onboard mike (like mine) that means that the sound from the lavalier will be the only thing your camera captures and it will only capture it on one channel. That's the deal breaker for me. It's easy to duplicate the sound into two channels for output, but what this means for me is I will only capture a part of what I want. I tend to shoot documentary style, and while I am usually focused on one person and want to be able to hear what he or she says clearly without a lot of interference, I also want to capture (separately) the ambient sound. The only way I could make this work for most things I want to do is if I also bought a portable mixer and plugged this and another mike into it, setting each to different stereo channels. At that point, though, I'd lose a lot of the flexibility I have with my camcorder. I'm going to keep looking for a better solution; but for some needs this would be a nice solution to the problem of getting clear voices without extraneous sound on a compact camcorder.
Maybe worth $50 May 13, 2010 J. Eck 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got the unit to use on my Canon T2i DSLR, it fit nicely and the construction is fine as was the range but the sound is vary poor. The noise floor is high (it has a noticeable hiss) and the sound transmitted is two quiet as well as seeming muffled. I tried some high end headset and lapel mics with the transmitter and the sound was still bad. Now I just need to save $600 for a sennheiser.
Excellent quality audio and great range! April 12, 2010 K. Winter 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This little microphone really wowed me when connected to my HF200 digital camcorder. I'd say it has excellent professional quality audio, much better than built in mics, and your voice is clear and crisp and great range; I've tested it up to 50 feet with no distortion.
The only two real downsides are some wind noise does get picked up if you are outside and the wind is blowing, and it does pickup some background noise but the volume of the background noise is much less than your voice. Other than that it would be nice if the clip was smaller to make it easier to hide on camera.
Overall I'd say it's an excellent buy and a huge upgrade from built-in microphones, I'd highly recommend it to anyone that wants professional sounding videos!
