this item works on DVD and game systems only, it won't do anything on a CD player. It is very expensive compared to others I saw and just exactly the same.

Had a Samsung DVD Recorder that refused to accept disks, one cleaning and it would; too bad it has other defects. (the recorder not the cleaner)

If your considering the purchase of this based on the previous reputation of Maxell, think again. This DVD seems to have a mind of it's own as to whether it activates once you place it into your DVD player. If you do end up with the screen prompts don't consider yourself one of the lucky few! It does not possess the quality or capability to properly clean the DVD laser in the very least! Complete and utter junk.
Fools rush in, were wise men never go...

This DVD "Cleaner" does not work. It will not play, it just hangs, and it can damage your unit. There is no phone number to call. It is outrageous that this company thinks it can get away with this. I will never again buy any product affiliated with Maxell in any way.
