Amazon.com Product Description
The XM Roady2 personal audio system from Delphi turns your Roady2 XM Satellite Radio receiver into a portable listening device, no strings attached. You'll no longer be dependent on your XM home or car adapter kit for listening--the personal audio system includes a streamlined docking station, a headset with a built-in XM antenna, and a dedicated, compact AC power adapter for indoor use. A Roady2 XM receiver is required for use and sold separately.P The kit also expands the Roady2's performance abilities, giving you a digital FM tuner (especially handy when the XM signal is obstructed by buildings, trees, etc.) and a stock ticker so you can keep track of up to 20 of your favorite stocks while listening to your favorite XM music, news, sports, and talk channels. (Stock data is provided by Comstock, Inc.; stock and market index information is delayed by approximately 25 minutes.)P A built-in wireless XM audio adaptor transmits the XM signal to one of 12 FM frequencies, perfect for wireless use through a car stereo, boombox, surround receiver, hi-fi component tuner, or other radio. An additional volume control on the headset lets you adjust the volume of both XM and FM stations without your having to access the main unit.P A rechargeable and replaceable lithium-ion battery pack built into the docking station lasts up to 4 hours in XM mode and at least 12 hours in FM mode. The docking station's blue backlit LCD shows XM channel info as well as FM station and battery-life status.P bWhat's in the Box/bbr Personal audio system docking station, a built-in lithium-ion battery, a set of custom-designed headphones with an integrated XM antenna, an AC power adapter, a user's manual, and a quick setup guide.

1 out of 5 stars Delphi XM Roady2 Personal Audio System   August 28, 2008
The item advertised was misleading. The picture shows the receiver. It was not clear the the receiver was 'not' included.

5 out of 5 stars My older XM just got portable   February 22, 2008
I was amazed that in this world of planned obsolescence I could find a device that would convert my old roady2 into a portable live on air XM reciever with an FM radio to boot! The battery life is excelent and the design is logicaly cool. the only drawback is that there is no way to lock the controls to prevent accidental volume or chanel changes. it is the same size as a standard walkman and fits nicely innto my coat pocket. The reception is great, even indoors.

2 out of 5 stars Poor design   December 23, 2007
The item works as described, the problem is the toggle switch, which has now snapped off. The customer service advises that if it isn't under warranty then they cannot repair it. Poor product support. Not worth the cost when you can't get it repaired if not under warranty.

4 out of 5 stars Does a good job but does have a problem   August 6, 2006

I got mine on sale for about half-price so I have no complaints about the cost. It works very well and, for me at least, will even works indoors. The battery will work around four hours while listening to satellite broadcasts. I've not tried it just on FM. It's certainly not very heavy as some have claimed, at least in my opinion.br /br /The number one problem so far has been removing the Roady receiver after use. The fit is so tight that sometimes it takes all my strength to open the tray. However, I have discovered a solution to that. Get a very thin piece of metal, preferably very strong, such as a fingernail file. In the upper left-hand corner of the audio system the corner is curved. Very gently insert the piece of metal in this corner and very gently pry the radio to the right. You won't have to pry it very far either. So far I haven't damaged the receiver, so be sure and use a gentle touch. I've written Delphi and complained about this problem. They are aware of it, but haven't been able to figure a solution. They say the tight fit is required so the system will work properly.

5 out of 5 stars If you already have a Roady2....   March 14, 2006
Sign up for the newsletter and special offers online through XM! I also only paid $20, including the shipping! No way would I pay $100-$150, (and I've seen even higher on eBay....with bids!). It's a bit bulky to carry around, but not bad for an easy conversion. Much better reception than I accepted, not like I can complain for $20! My husband has XM built into his truck radio and it will definitly be the way I go in the future because I am not always pleased with the sound quality with the FM reception through my car radio, but now with this system I think I will use my Roady2 a lot more. I also think the case is built pretty good, maybe for over a hundred bucks it feels cheap, but for $20 it feels pretty good. I feel bad for those that paid the higher price, but it's nice to see a company actually do something for it's current customers and not just the new ones.
