| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Don't confuse the NAD L73 with lesser "one-box" theater systems. This 5.1-Channel DVD Surround Sound Receiver offers the level of performance associated with its highly acclaimed full-size separates in an elegant, compact design. By combining the DVD/CD Player and Digital Surround Sound Receiver in one elegant package, you only need to add a TV and speakers for theater quality sound in any room. The L73 is ideal for apartment and condo dwellers, and makes for an outstanding bedroom or recreation room system. Features include progressive scan DVD output, an extraordinarily convenient wireless remote control, simplified setup using the On Screen Display, built-in surround sound processing, Dolby Virtual Speaker, and Dolby Headphone. bDesigned with Performance in Mind/b The NAD engineers concentrated only on the truly important parts of a surround sound system. All five channels are capable of putting out an equal and substantial amount of power. As one would expect from NAD, only high quality components have been used, such as high resolution ADCs and DACs from renowned manufacturer Crystal to obtain the best possible performance. Most "home theater in a box" systems use digital IC amplifier modules, which allow for a very slim-line design, but cannot meet even the most basic hi-fi specs for noise and distortion. What's more, these amplifiers can only put out a very modest amount of power, far too little for a satisfying cinematic or musical performance. And to make matters even worse, these digital IC amplifiers cannot drive real world speakers due to their poor tolerance of low impedance, and almost total lack of dynamic power. Instead of relying on cheap IC amps, the L73 uses discrete output stages only, including the surround channels. The benefits of this approach have been proven over the years in many acclaimed NAD amplifiers and receivers. Power, response, and realism are the benefits of this no-compromise design. bConnectivity
